Match 5 - Walkers Dam
Nineteen anglers turned out to fish the picturesque Walkers Dam at Alverthorpe in warm sunny conditions more associated with June. Local knowledge and youth combined with a good draw laid the foundations for a well earned win for Josh Reynolds from peg 3. He pole fished all day with pellet baits to land Bream at regular intervals for a final weight of 14-6. Second on the opposite bank was Neil Mallinson using the exact same tactics finishing just short with 12-14.
Third was another local youth, Jamie Cowling who caught mainly crucians on pole and pellet for a weight of12-7 from peg 13.

19 JUN NEWMILLER DAM TEAMS OF FOUR TROPHY
re-opening of Newmillerdam after a lengthy close season.
Brian Hampshire won it making it his first ever club win, coming just two months
shy of his seventieth birthday!
He fished feeder all day from peg 52 catching odd skimmers in patches on single
and double maggot baits for a total weight of 15lb--09oz. Well done to Brian.
Second was Lindsay Clarke who fished the same tactics from peg 46 for a
weight of 14lb--06oz.
Third on the day was his travel partner Geoff Askey fishing the same way as the
other two for a weight of 12lb--08oz.
Not surprisingly the teams of four event was won by Barnsley who dominated easily.

03 JUL NEWMILLER DAM VETERANS TROPHY
Twenty four anglers lined the bank of Newmillerdam all wondering if the
fish would feed.
Winner by a mile was Martin Brown from end peg 37 who caught skimmers
and Bream on feeder tactics and maggot baits for a final weight of 19-2.
Second from peg 16 was Trevor Bishop who after a fruitless first hour switched
to short pole under the willow catching numerous Perch from a feeding shoal.
He caught on maggot and worm baits for a total weight of 13-4.
Third from peg 52 was Lindsey Clarke who caught Skimmers on feeder and
dead maggot and weighed 8-9.

Twenty anglers turned up for the away match at Hemsworth hoping that the shoals
of Bream would be feeding. Sadly they seemed to be having an off day.
Winner was Neil Stead who fished a short line on pole with worm and caster baits
catching Roach and Skimmers regular throughout the day.
His final catch totalling 25-6.
Second was Trevor Bishop who started on feeder and then switched to pole
landing Bream on pellet baits for a final weight of 23-10.
One fish short in third place was Gary Hampshire who fished long pole and pellet catching Skimmers and roach for a total weight of 23-0.

Top rod on the day was life member Bob Reah from peg 53 with a weight of 23-4.
He caught steadily all day taking good Skimmers on feeder tactics with maggot and worm hook baits.
Second from peg 10 was newcomer Mick Bower who pole fished bronze maggot catching around one hundred and sixty fish for a final weight of 18-2.
Third from peg 4 was Gary Hampshire who had a mixed bag of Roach on pole and caster and small Bream on feeder and maggot. His final weight coming to 15-10.

by winning the day with a weight of 9-14. He caught small Roach and
Chub all day long on pole at sixteen metres on squatts.
Second was Mike Sharpe from peg 104 who fished identical tactics but at
thirteen metres taking Roach and Perch on squatt for a final weight of 8-6.
Third was Gary Hampshire who again caught mainly Roach on squatt at
thirteen metres pushing the scales round to 7-5.
